Let the Christmases begin!

We kicked off our first Christmas celebration with my mom's side of the family on December 16. Hazen was so excited to finally meet Aunt Vicki and Uncle Bruce and of course spend time playing with his cousins! It's always so fun to get together, especially when we get to see Gramps and Grandma Jan!

3 months old!!

I can't believe my little guy is 3 months old! Time is going by so fast but it is so much fun to watch him grow, mature, and change. He is the happiest baby and his smiles and coos melt my heart. He has now started to become really interested in his toys. His favorite is his "farm" where he loves to grab the dangling toys. He also loves his bumbo seat. He's so proud of himself when he's sitting up in it. According to our bathroom scales he weighs about 11 1/2 pounds now! Over the past 2 weeks he's started wearing his 0-3 months clothes and I just packed away his newborn stuff which made his mommy really sad. He sleeps in his crib every night like such a big boy and now only wakes up to eat at midnight and 4 am and I'm appreciating the extra Z's! His favorite time of day is morning. He is so happy and smiley that it makes waking up in the morning awesome! He loves when his mommy and daddy sing and dance for him while we are getting ready, although I'm still deciding whether he's laughing with us or at us! :) We can't wait for all of the amazing changes that are still to come!

Working Momma

Last week was my first full week back to work. I can't believe how fast my time at home with Hazen flew by! I loved every minute of being home and at first was sad to go back. But that was before I saw how much Hazen enjoyed all of his babysitters. He's quite the traveling exhibit until we get into a daycare. He plays with Gigi (Cole's mom) on Mondays and Thursdays, our friend Erin and her 5 month old daughter Kloey on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and Boppy (my dad) on Fridays. Well each day was quite the adventure and mom and dad have learned to be very organized getting everything prepared the night before! I am so excited that he gets to spend a few days a week interacting with another baby. I can't believe how spending time with Kloey made him become so much more active in just 2 days! Plus, he's comfortable enough in his manhood to play with all of her pink toys!! His mommy misses him so much but God blessed us with the perfect set up right now and I am beyond thankful!!

Big boy!

Lately Hazen has been holding his head up so well that I decided to try out his bumbo seat. It was a hit! He loves it and is so proud of himself for being such a big boy! I can't believe he's 12 weeks old today! Time is going by way too fast!

It was 7 years ago on November 26, 2005 that Cole and I went on our first date.  We originally met in
high school in June of 2000 while on a national student council trip in California.  We were acquaintances throughout college but didn't hang out much until after Cole graduated we met back up at Homecoming and he asked me out on our first date.  We went to Bricktown, ate at Zios, road the water taxi (in the freezing cold), and went to see the movie Rent.  It was a great first date, who would have guessed we'd be where we are today!

Christmas light craziness

Loy and Linda came over to help us put up our Christmas lights and we had quite the great laugh thanks to Loy! Cole was up on the ladder putting lights on the roof and I was pushing the light stakes into the ground. Linda was rocking Hazen on the porch and Loy was helping Cole from down on the ground. Cole needed the staple gun and Loy threw it to him but he missed and it fell behind the bushes. Loy then attempted to lean through the opening in the porch to get it but underestimated the drop. He fell face first into the bushes with only his feet still sticking through the window. I then ran to help, pulling on his feet to try and get him back up. Cooper went crazy and was barking and biting at his shoes. The whole time Linda and Cole were laughing hysterically. I finally managed to pull him up without injury. Definitely the hardest I've laughed in a long time! Cole said he laughed so hard he about fell off of the ladder and Linda laughed so hard she woke Hazen up. Thankfully, she managed to get a picture I will laugh about for years to come! Thanks Papa Loy for a great Sunday afternoon!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hazen Eli had his first Thanksgiving on Thursday and he was quite the busy boy!  First, we headed to Hennessey where we had a huge Thanksgiving with about 90 people at a local church.  It was the first meeting of the four Hazens.  Hazen Earl, Hazen Clay, Hazen Cole, and Hazen Eli.  We greatly enjoyed catching up with family we hadn't seen in a while.  Then we headed back to Yukon to have Thanksgiving with my family where Hazen's cousins posed in their matching turkey shirts.  Overall, a very relaxing and fun Thanksgiving!

10 weeks old!!

Hazen Eli is officially in double digits now! Taking his weekly picture is becoming a little more challenging because he is constantly wiggling while he's awake. I love the little silly faces he makes and the personality that he's developing. I see a silly little boy in our future!

Hazen's Baptism

My proudest moment thus far as a parent was Hazen's baptism. We are so blessed for God to have given us such a beautiful, happy, healthy baby boy.  This was a special day that we scheduled even before Hazen Eli arrived.  His Baptism was a beautiful mass and we followed it with a celebratory lunch with family and friends.  I had so much fun planning his party and was so proud of how it all turned out!  Thank you to all of our amazing family and friends for being a part of such a special day in our son's life!
He was such a champ, he slept through the whole thing!

First Tailgate

Cole and I have been a part of a tailgate group for the past 3 years and weren't thinking that we'd be able to take Hazen Eli to a tailgate this year.  But the weather was great this weekend so we bundled him up and his Gigi came along so that she could watch him at a friend's house during the actual game. He loved it!  (Although he slept through most of it.)  He's a Cowboys fan already!

Happy 30th Birthday!

Cole turned 30 on Saturday and I threw him a surprise 30th birthday party!  I can't believe I pulled it off.  I have been planning it for months, well before Hazen was born.  It took a team effort but he was actually surprised.  He was determined to have his birthday dinner on Friday night (the night of the planned party) so I first told him that certain friends couldn't make it that night.  I even had them send text messages to my phone saying that and planted it where he would see the messages.  Then I knew I needed something big planned for Friday to throw him off.  One of our good friends Kendall works at Devon and we told him that she won reservations to Vast, the restaurant on top of the Devon building.  Well he got so excited and told everyone he was going, even our priest.  Then, after work we planned for him to go to H&H to shoot guns with Jared telling him I was going to buy him a gun for Christmas.  A huge group of his amazing friends all showed up and he walked in the door as we yelled surprise!  His face was classic!  We then got to spend a great evening catching up with friends.  Happy Birthday Cole!!

2 months old!

Hazen went for his 2 month check up with his new pediatrician.  It's so hard to believe that my little baby is 2 months old.  Time flies too fast!  He weighed a wopping 9 pounds 1 ounce and 21.75 inches long.  He's less then the 5th percentile but the doctor said that since he was born early it will take him a while to catch up.  His head however, the 25th percentile!  Got to store all those brains somewhere right?  Everything else checked out just great and we love our new doctor!

Let's go blogging

So I have decided that with all the fun and exciting times that come with being a parent I should start a blog to share with family and friends.  We'll see how diligent I am but here we go!
